Empowering leaders to foster inclusive workplaces
The Workshop Overview
Foundations in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) is a one-day workshop designed to equip leaders with the essential knowledge and skills to foster DEIB within their organizations. As the foundational level in our DEIB program, this workshop provides the building blocks for creating inclusive and equitable workplace environments. Leaders will explore core DEIB principles and develop actionable strategies to implement inclusive practices that enhance team dynamics and organizational performance.
Participants will gain a clear understanding of key DEIB concepts, including the distinctions between diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. The workshop will also address unconscious bias, systemic oppression and micro-aggressions, helping leaders identify and overcome common barriers to inclusion. Leaders will learn to recognize their own privilege and evaluate how this affects their perspective and actions in the workplace.
The workshop focuses on developing inclusive leadership skills and building a culture of belonging. Leaders will leave with a plan to improve DEIB within their teams, applying strategies that foster greater diversity and inclusion in their day-to-day activities. This workshop is ideal for managers, supervisors and leaders committed to creating inclusive workplace cultures and driving organizational change through compassionate leadership.

- Develop a plan to improve DEIB in their own organization.
The Workshop Modules
Module 1
Meaning of and Experience with DEIB
We begin with a shared understanding of what Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging mean—and how they show up in the workplace. Participants reflect on their own experiences and discuss how identity, belonging, bias, and privilege shape team dynamics and workplace culture.
Module 2
The Value of DEIB
In this module, participants examine the individual and organizational benefits of fostering a diverse and inclusive culture. Through discussion and small group activities, leaders connect DEIB to employee engagement, innovation and long-term organizational success.
Module 3
Barriers to DEIB
We take a deeper look at unconscious bias, microaggressions, and systemic oppression—common barriers that hinder inclusion and belonging. Using reflective tools like the Wheel of Privilege and Power and interactive exercises, participants increase their self-awareness and explore the impact of everyday interactions.
Module 4
Shifting Perspective and Taking Action
Participants explore how to expand their perspective, use their influence, and lead with empathy. They learn to recognize inequities and practice more inclusive behaviors. The workshop closes with each participant creating a personal action plan to help build a more inclusive workplace, starting with themselves and their teams.
